Editorial: The Tamale Congress Success

The leadership, members and supporters of the NDC deserve to be congratulated for organising a successful congress. Indeed, there is no doubt that their success story would be the envy of their opponents. For us, the most important aspect of the congress is the unity they achieved at the end of the day. Our prayer is that this peace and unity would not be a nine-day wonder. It is our hope also that in the light of the new found unity, those who have made it a business to continuously lie to the President about other people would put an end to their nefarious activities. It is also our hope that those who spent time and money creating the Mills and the Rawlings factions in the NDC would quickly disband their camps and allow the new breeze of unity continue to blow throughout the party. Definitely, the biggest responsibility lies on the shoulders of the Presdient to ensure that the party remains united. This he can do by letting those who have been forming factions in his name understand that he would no longer tolerate their activities. The NDC, by the success if chalked at the Tamale Congress has set the tone for victory in 2012. There should be no looking back.
