Becareful of "Misplaced Agggression" Or You'll Prematurely Destroy Your Career - Baako Warns Sammy Gyamfi

Kweku Baako Jnr., Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, has issued a strong warning to the newly elected Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Sammy Gyamfi, saying the young party executive is on the verge of collapsing his political career.

According to him, if Sammy Gyamfi doesn't watch his political play and antics; he may not survive the test of time.

Kweku Baako made this comment in reference to some statements that the NDC Communications Director reportedly made about President Nana Akufo-Addo.

"My advice to the youngman, and I think he is a very articulate, intelligent youngman who has a future  . . . honestly this thing is a marathon . . . Allotey and Wofa Yaw, call and advice him that this is a marathon or else he'll suffer a premature something . . . " Kweku Baako noted.

Sammy Gyamfi is said to have attacked President Akufo-Addo for attending the Global Citizen Festival held in South Africa over the weekend.

The Global Citizen Festival brought together Heads of State, world-acclaimed music arts and other high-profile dignitaries to celebrate the centenary of one of the world's greatest leaders, Nelson Mandela.

It was aimed at raising about a billion dollars to eradicate "hunger and increasing access to good nutrition, ending neglected tropical diseases, reducing HIV transmission rates, ensuring every child receives a quality education, reforming and repealing sexist laws, providing funding for women's health and family planning, and ensuring access to clean water and safe sanitation worldwide".

Sammy Gyamfi, according to a statement associated with him, asserts that the President's attendance to the Global Citizen Festival was not in the interest of the country because there are pressing issues begging for solutions.

He also reportedly claimed the President didn't inform Parliament before making his trip to South Africa for the historic event.

"This is the height of insensitivity and irresponsibility on the part of our President. This act also underlines the misplaced priorities of this government.

"What breaks my heart more is the fact that in times like this, when the cost of fuel is so high, coupled with rising import charges and worsening exchange rate, our President finds it expedient to fly out secretly to enjoy a concert by Jayzee and Beyonce in faraway South Africa. Let's we forget, CETAG is still on strike, all Colleges of Education and the GIJ remain closed. Yet the President is unperturbed, and rather chose to cool off in a foreign land," he stated.

Addressing Sammy Gyamfi's claims on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Kweku Baako wondered where he got his information regarding the President not giving prior notice to the Speaker of Parliament before his travel to South Africa.

Apparently, there is evidential tape recording which was played on 'Kokrokoo' about the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin corroborating that President Akufo-Addo wrote a letter to Parliament informing them about his trip to the Global Citizen Festival.

Mr. Baako, in a stern voice, admonished Sammy Gyamfi to tread cautiously and be careful of his "misplaced aggression".

“He should have the courage to accept that this is an error, retract it. I don’t even demand apology . . . I believe he has potential. I believe he’s very articulate, he is intelligent. He has a lot of future in politics but he should be careful of misplaced aggression, otherwise that will prematurely destroy his career,” he stressed.
