Asante Kotoko Names 18-Man Travelling Squad To Kenya

Charles Kwabla Akunnor, head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, has named an 18-member squad for the club's first leg game against Kenyan side, Kariobangi Sharks in the second round of the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Confederations Cup.

    Asante Kotoko is expected to travel to Kenya on Wednesday, December 13, for the first leg of the competition, which would be played between 14th-16th December and the second leg scheduled for the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi, a week later.

    Coach Akunnor's side includes prolific forward Songne Yacouba, former CAF Champions league winner Daniel Nii Adjei and Black Stars Goalkeeper Felix Annan.

     Kotoko gained a walk over in the first round of the competition following their Cameroonian opponent's inability to reach deadline for certain requirements by CAF.

     The reigning FA Cup champion, is the only Ghanaian club in any continental competition this season.

    Kotoko would play in a friendly game with the national under 23 team, Black Meteors on Sunday, December 9, at the Accra Sports Stadium before leaving for Kenya.

     Goalkeepers: Felix Annan, Muntari Tagoe

     Defenders: Amos Frimpong(captain), Augustine Sefa, Abass Mohammed, Wahab Adams, Ismali Abdul Ganiu, Agyemang Badu.

     Midfielders: Jordan Opoku, Umar Bashiru, Daniel Nii Adjei, Richard Senanu, Kwame Bonsu Conte.

      Forwards: Maxwell Baako, Sogne Yacouba, Emmanuel Gyamfi, Martin Antwi, Naby Keita.
