Dorcas Family fellowships with inmates of Ho Leprosarium

The Dorcas Family Society in the Global Evangelical Church on Saturday held a fellowship with inmates of the Ho Leprosarium. Members of the society, mainly women, sang, danced, prayed and communed with the inmates for about two hours. Mrs Esther Agbo, a member of the society, in a brief sermon, exhorted the inmates not to consider themselves as sick people but an important part of society. She said irrespective of their present conditions, God has plans for their lives and advised them to hope for the better. Mrs Agbo urged them to be prayerful and trust in God as the giver and sustainer of life. Mrs Sarah Adinku, President of the Society, presented assorted items including clothes, sandals, toiletries and some educational materials to the inmates. She said the initiative, which is an annual event, was part of the Society's spiritual and material outreach programme. Mrs Adinku said the Society had also established an educational fund under the name Philippine Ablavi Tetteh Educational Fund (PATEF) to help needy but brilliant students. Mr Anthony Adjavor, Technical Officer of the Leprosarium, expressed gratitude to the Society for its gesture.
