Ashantigold Clash Very Crucial - Kotoko PRO

Mr. Sarfo Duku, the Communications Director of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, has said the impending clash against Ashantigold in the J.A. Kufuor Cup on Sunday, is a key component of their plans for the new year.

The Elephants, would lock horns with the Porcupine Warriors in the maiden edition of the J.A Kufour Cup slated for the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, January 6.

According to Mr. Duku, the match would serves as good preparatory game ahead of their CAF Confederation playoff tie against Cameroonian side, Coton Sport FC, as well as honouring their former Board Chairman, former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

“This match is very important to us. We playing this match to honour the former President of the Republic of Ghana, former board chairman and also our crucial encounter in Africa.

“We believe this match would serve as good preparatory match ahead of the big clash in Cameroon. Ashantigold would give us the needed opposition required ahead of our match and we would approach it with all seriousness,'' Mr. Duku said.

Mr. Duku remained buoyant of annexing the cup on Sunday as he urged supporters of the club to fill the stadium to make the occasion very successful.
