Joy wins Achimota Lady Captain's Prize

Joy Arkutu became the proud winner of the 2009/2010 Achimota Golf Club Lady Captain's Prize when she defeated Mona Myles-Lamptey on count-back in the Silver Division, after they had both scored 27 points. Aku Yaba took the third position with 26 points with Florence Etwi-Barimah placing fourth with 24 points, while Leticia Amponsah-Mensah came fifth with 23 points, beating Yaa Safo-Debrah on count-back In the Bronze Division, Francisca Vandyck came first with 23 points with Mingkong Ding taking the second position with 22 points, after she beat Victoria Adjei on count-back while Eno Ofori Atta placed fourth with 21 points. In the Men's segment, M. A. Hassan came first with 42 points, Martin Obeng-Appiah took the second position with 41 points, while Reverend Essau Amezando took the third position with 40 points, beating Sam Sowah on count-back. The one-day 18-Hole Stable-ford competition which was sponsored by Mrs Betty Sowah-Allotey, Lady Captain of the Achimota Golf Club, attracted over 100 participants. The Lady Captains Prize received corporate sponsorship from Databank Services with support from Zain Ghana Limited and Fan Milk Limited. Mrs Sowah-Allotey, outgoing Lady Captain praised the members of the Club for the unalloyed support she enjoyed since she assumed office two years ago. She urged them to offer the same support for her successor, Nana Bema-Tackie to enable her work diligently towards the success and development of the Club.
