NUGS Pays Courtesy Call On CEO Of State Housing Company

The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) as part of its desire to create a relevant relationship for the union and the general students body of Ghana and beyond paid courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of State Housing Company, Mr. Kwabena Ampofo Appiah.

The visit was to interact with the CEO of the State Housing Company and also to jaw jaw on what NUGS can do to curb accomodation issues in our various institutions looking critically at the Free SHS policy and the desire of the government in making education accessible to all Ghanaians.

The CEO, Mr Ampofo Appiah expressed his joy on NUGS visit and found the pleasure in updating them on the successes of the State Housing Company Limited especially the building of a hostel facility at UHAS to help reduce accommodation problem.

The President, Tinkaro Asare, in his speech alluded the need for the union to have a broader plan on how issues of accommodation on various campuses can be addressed especially with the coming into force of the Free SHS Policy.

He also asked for the assistance of the state housing company in refurbishing the secretariat of the National Union of Ghana Students and in the coming days how measures will be put in place in helping to address the administrative challenges of the union.

Mr. Ampofo Appiah assured them of his solid support for the administration and urged them to at any point in time call on him for any assistance.

The union urge all SRC and NUGS executive who as part of their policy to build hostel facilities for their institutions to call on the union for assistance.
