Unemployed Remanded For Robbery

An Accra Circuit Court has remanded an unemployed man into prison custody for allegedly robbing a computer technician about four months ago.

Richard Adjei, who robbed George Whyte, the victim, denied the charge of conspiring with one Kabiru, now at large, to rob the victim.

He will make his next appearance on January 23.

Police Inspector Samuel Ahiabor told the Court presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh that Whyte lives at Nii-Boi Town, whilst Adjei resides at Israel in the Ga Central Municipality all in the Greater Accra Region.

He said in September 2018, Whyte went for a pool party at the K-Hotel, located at Tantra-Hills in Accra.

He said, the accused who was also at the party pulled a jack knife and robbed Whyte of his Galaxy S5 cellular phone, a gold necklace, a wrist watch in addition to his wallet which contained GH¢400.00 and sped-off on a motorbike ridden by Kabiru.

The Prosecution said on January 2, this year, at about 0100 hours, Adjei was spotted by Mr John Gyimah, the owner of the hotel who then caused his arrest.

Inspector Ahiabor said Adjei was then handed over to the Israel Police for investigations.

He said police found a military jacket in his room when a search was conducted at his abode.

Inspector Ahiabor said after further investigations Adjei was put before the court.
