Apostle Safo Develops Organic Fertilizer, Pesticide, And Weedicide

Apostle Kwadwo Safo, Founder and Leader of Christo Asafo Church, has developed an organic fertilizer, pesticides and weedicide to improve crop yields to feed the country’s ever-growing population.

The biodiversity-friendly fertilizer has a fertility lifespan of six years while the duo-purpose pesticide helps pollination, raid livestock and plants off pests using local plants formulation.
The weedicide also kills unwanted plants by halting photosynthesis within 11 hours of its application.

Apostle Safo announced this when a two-member delegation made up of Professor Frimpong-Boateng, Minister of Environment Science Technology and Innovation, and Mr Oliver Boakye, Special Advisor to the Ministry paid a visit to the farm.

Aside from familiarizing themselves with the many home-grown innovations, in the area of agriculture, engineering, and technology, the visit was to identify and formally discuss how the government could partner him to expand and commercialized some of his inventions.

Apostle Safo explained that the three innovations were not harmful to human as compared to the imported chemical fertilizer and pesticides, which had side effect anytime farmers got in contact with them.

“With my fertilizer, you do not need to cover your nose or any part of your body when you are applying any of it. It is not poisonous to human like the imported ones on the market,” he emphasized.

“When an animal gets any kind of infestation, we use the pesticide to thoroughly bath the animal and between three to seven days the animal is free. People of Odembo and surrounding communities on daily basics bring their animals for pest infestation healing.”

On expansion, Apostle Safo, had plans to build a production facility in Agogo to produce the three agro products in larger quantity, which would be cheaper.

He questioned why chemical fertilizers and pesticides seeking to kill pest and disease on crops should harm humans.
