Agona West MP fetes 1,200 children

Mrs Cynthia Maley Morrison, Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona West, recently feted more than 1, 200 children including their mothers in her constituency.

Apart receiving packs of varieties dressing cloths and various other gifts, the kids and their mothers were entertained with gospel and hip life music.

Mrs Morrison, who is also Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, said similar get-togethers have been organized for children in Accra and Agona Swedru.

Mrs Morrison said besides hoping to bring smiles to the children, the effort was also to bring her closer to families in the community.

She said has adopted Agona Nkum because it has become one of her strongholds where she polled massive votes in 2016 elections.

She said that during the campaign time in 2016, she spent time with the chiefs and the people and has not forgotten what they did for her in the election.

She said at Agona Swedru, mothers in various communities of the township, had their fair share of the gifts.

The Gender Minister said that her birthday falls on 16th January, and has decided to organize big feast for mothers, Persons with Disabilities, children, pastors and chiefs amongst others in the society.

The Minister said efforts would continue to be made under the President Akufo-Addo government to ensure that the lives of all Ghanaians are enhanced.
