Residents of Pakyi No.1 & 2 Give Akufo-Addo 6-Month Ultimatum To Complete Roads

Residents of Pakyi No.1 and Pakyi No.2 in the Amansie West District of Manso Nkwanta Constituency in the Ashanti Region have given the Akufo-Addo government till the month of June 2019 to complete all road networks in their areas.

According to one of the opinion leaders, even though the Member of Parliament for Manso Nkwanta in Amansie West, Hon. Joseph Albert Quarm has done well within two years in Parliament, his work is not complete without ensuring that the contractor adds asphalt to the roads as the unbearable dust is adding up to their health problems in the communities.

The people of Pakyi No.1 and Pakyi No.2 however threatened to show Akufo-Addo government the red card if their demands are not met within the 6 month ultimatum given; thus the Member of Parliament, Hon. Quarm will not be spared in their wrath against his government.

Speaking to Peacefmonline.com in its “Constituency Watch” initiative which gives Members of Parliament the platform to profile their achievements, challenges and the possible way out, Hon. Joseph Albert Quarm said his mandate as MP is to make laws, do needs assessment of his people and lobby for them.

He however reminded his constituents especially those suffering from bad road networks that every agreed project which were laid before him during his needs assessment with the chiefs and the opinion leaders in the Amansie West District will not be left out as it was his lobbing prowess which got Ghana First Company to start the roads construction from Pakyi No.2 to Antoakrom.

“I always meet my constituents three times every year and I know the needs of my people through our constant needs assessment meetings. The major needs of my people are good roads and public toilets and so I have lobbied for the construction of a 23km road from Pakyi No.2 to Antoakrom, 7.2km road from Asamang junction through Yawkrom Kwankyeabo to Agroyesum. I have also lobbied for the construction of 23km road from Nkawie Wiaso through Ahwerewa Essuowin Moseaso to Antoakrom,” he stated.

He stressed that about 43 Toilet Facilities are being constructed in all the Manso Nkwanta Constituency in Amansie West District with each toilet facility being 10-seater to serve all the communities.

It was observed that the toilet facilities are at various stages of completion.
