Brong Ahafo: Seven Perish Within Two Weeks At Atebubu-Amantin

Residents of Atebubu/Amantin in the Brong Ahafo Region have expressed worry about potholes on their roads in the municipality.

The residents complain the potholes are a major cause of deaths in the area.

They told Peace FM's Brong Ahafo regional correspondent that the poor roads have within two weeks claimed seven lives.

According to the drivers and commuters who ply Atebubu-Amantin highway, they have filed numerous complaints with the authorities in the municipality but they have turned a blind eye to their plight.

"Sometimes the drivers have to fill the potholes with gravels to avoid accidents," adding that they find it difficult to work in the night due to the poor roads.

The road users claimed the Member of Parliament of the area, Hon. Kofi Amoakohene and the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Edward Owusu have been using the road everyday but don't care about the lives of the people.

They are appealing to the Roads and Highways Minister, Kwasi Amoako-Attah, to address their concerns in order to prevent further road accidents.
