FRAUD ALERT: Imposter Creates Fake Facebook Account of First Lady To Defraud People
A fake account on Facebook claiming to belong to Ghana’s First Lady, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo, has been exposed after it tried to dupe some Ghanaians.
The fake account which has been in operation for some time now was exposed after the person behind it made an attempt to extort money from one Evelyn Odei Ntow.
The lady received a direct message from the said account with the name and picture of the First Lady luring her to join her [First Lady’s] foundation for some benefits.
Evelyn was then asked to buy forms for an amount of GHc200 from one Richard Asare on MTN Mobile Money number 0555903420 to start with the whole initiative.
According to Evelyn, she was later blocked by the imposter after she refused to send the money on time as agreed during the conversation.
