Speed Up Investigations Into Ahmed's 'Gruesome' Killing - Gov’t Urges Police

Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has on behalf of government condemned the gruesome murder of an undercover journalist, Ahmed Hussein-Suale who worked for the Tiger Eye PI Organization headed by Ace Investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

In a media encounter, the Ofoase-Ayirebi lawmaker said “Government’s attention has been drawn to the gruesome killing of Ahmed Husein, an undercover journalist who worked for the Tiger Eye PI organisation headed by Ace Investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas”.

According to him, the sad incident happened on Wednesday 16th January 2019 at Madina, a surburb of Accra as Ahmed Hussein-Suale is alleged to have been gunned down by unknown assailants while he drove home.

“Government condemns this heinous and barbaric act. We are aware the Police have begun investigations into the incident. We however urge the security agency to quicken their investigations and bring the perpetrators to book. Violence against Media Practitioners and Journalists must not be tolerated”.

“Government also wishes to express our deep heartfelt condolences to the Family of the victim, the Organisation he worked for and the Media fraternity in general,” he said.

Ahmed Hussein-Suale was shot three times, twice in the chest and another in the neck late Wednesday night at Madina in Accra while driving home by unidentified men riding motorbike.

His boss, Anas Aremeyaw Anas has confirmed the sad development and loss of a core team member and a brother.

Ahmed was one of Tiger Eye journalists whose photographs were circulated by Kennedy Agyapong in his 'who watches the watchman' anti-Anas video documentary and called on the public to deal with him.

But outspoken Ken said “That boy is not relevant in my life. Why would I go and do some stupid thing like that?”

“He has never offended me so they should go and investigate those he has offended not me. He and his boss have offended so many people in this county. The evil they have been doing will follow them,” he added.
