Woman Drinks Mixture of Guinness & Petrol

A 23-year-old waitress, Patience Adjei, who suspected her husband of cheating on her, yesterday drank a solution of Guinness and petrol in an attempt to end her life. However, a timely intervention by her husband, Ebenezer Obeng, who rushed her depressed wife to a nearby clinic, which was just some few meters away, saved the situation. As at press time yesterday, Madam Adjeis condition was described as stable, according to medical officers. The incident occurred within the Ghana Industrial and Commercial Estates Limited (GICEL), where incidentally, the office of The Independent is located. Narrating the incident yesterday, Mr. Obeng told the Independent newspaper that a little misunderstanding ensued between them when his wife accused him of cheating on her because I did not sleep in the house last night. According to him, he decided to pass the night at his junior brothers place and that, the accusation being leveled against him by his wife was totally baseless. Mr. Obeng added that his wife who apparently was not satisfied with the explanation decided to end her life. She told me she would commit suicide, but I thought she was joking, the worried husband said but after a while, he realized that the wife was terribly vomiting at our backyard and got alarmed when she told me that the vomiting was as a result of the solution of Guinness and petrol she had drank, Mr. Obeng stated. She immediately collapsed moments after vomiting, so I got scared and shouted for help. According to the husband, a few good Samaritans came around and helped him to rush her ailing wife to the Ramseyer Medical Centre. Mr. Obeng insited that he has never cheated on her wife and that on the night in question, he slept at his brothers house because it was quite late. I love my wife and I will never cheat on her, he stated.
