Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, says the introduction of Free Senior High School (SHS) has made it difficult to get ‘house helps’ for employment.
He explained that, most brilliant but needy girls whom hitherto served as maids to raise money to continue their education are all now in school due to the good initiative by President Akufo-Addo
“Gone were the days when young ones after Basic Education Council Examination (BECE) turn house helps with the aim of enrolling in apprenticeship,” he stated.
Speaking in an interview on Nhyira FM, Chairman Wontumi commended government for free SHS which in his view has secured the future of the girl child.
