Body Of Motor Rider Found In A Pool Of Blood

The lifeless body of a motor rider was found in a pool of blood on Wednesday a day after leaving home at Matsekope, a farming community near Sege, Ada West District.

His named was given as Abdulai Ossah, aged 25, resident at Bedeku, near Kasseh in neighbouring Ada East District.

A source close to the family told the GNA that the deceased left his family home on Tuesday morning January 22, this year, for work but failed to return.

The source said while the family became alarmed and begun looking for him, they heard a report on a local radio station that a body found had been found upon which they rushed to identify the deceased.

Mr. George Aboagye, a District Superintendent of Police (DSP) in charge of Ada West District, confirmed the report to the Ghana News Agency.

He said some locals found the body on a path between Luhuor and Matsekope, and his outfit was informed.

Mr. Aboagye said his men later found the body with a nylon rope about 1.7 meters around the neck, with blood oozing from the mouth and nose and a helmet close to the body.

He said there were some cuts, apparently from sharp objects around the neck and left leg.

Mr. Aboagye said it was clear the deceased was murdered elsewhere and the body dumped at where it was discovered as the grass has not been disturbed.

Mr. Aboagye said the body has been taken to the Police Hospital in Accra, where autopsy has since revealed that his neck bone was broken.

He said the bike of the deceased was also found abandoned at a spot near the village, adding police suspected a foul play and will continue investigations to bring the perpetrators to book.

He said no arrest has yet been made.
