Prez Akufo-Addo Played No Significant Role In Dagbon Crisis – Nii Lante Vanderpuye

Former Sports Minister and Member of Parliament for Odododiodoo constituency, Nii Lante Vanderpuye has tagged President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as a lucky leader.

According to him, the President is only enjoying what has already been cooked in his absence.

He said Nana Akufo-Addo and his government are just fortunate to meet peace at Dagbon and its environs but are not the brain behind it.

“ . . Nana Addo and his NPP must know that their two and half years spent in government cannot resolve a conflict that has been in existence for the past seventeen [17] years. They should stop claiming the works done for peace when the title-holders of the peace ensued have kept quiet praying for this peace to be sustained forever,” he stated.

Speaking on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ programme, Nii Lante Vanderpuye stated that “the only significant role the President played in the Dagbon issue was ‘to wear that Menzgold outfit’ to the programme”.

He charged every politician to be very watchful of statements made on the struggle to gain peace at Dagbon because a lot of residents are still not happy about the final decision taken.

“As politicians we must be mindful of what we say to help Yaa Naa Mahama Abubakari II succeed, as we also bear in mind the huge amount of resources the nation has lost in curtailing this conflict, out of which I have also enjoyed peace in my constituency, ” he sad.
