Mills Is Frustrated Under Unfulfilled Promises Dan Botwe

The NPP MP for Okere and former Minister of Information, Mr Daniel Botwe, has described recent public utterances of the President His Excellency Prof. John Evans Atta Mills as a demonstration of sheer arrogance and lack of respect for the people of Ghana. According to the former General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party, the Presidents comments last Saturday cast a slur on the intelligence of many discerning Ghanaians who have been witnesses to the massive socio-economic development the country achieved through the good works of ex-President Kufuor. Speaking in Kumasi in reaction to the Presidents statement last Saturday in Tamale that the eight year regime of the previous administration was a complete waste, the NPP MP stated that President Mills, through his remarks, has clearly shown the good people of Ghana who elected him into office that they have no sense of reasoning. He noted that the demeanor of the President in recent times, vis--vis his comments on the former Minister of Youth and Sports and the remarks at the NDC Congress concerning the performance of the previous administration were unbecoming of a President of this country, stressing that it was a direct opposite of his so-called peaceful and humble personally. Hon. Botwe emphasised that the President in the first place, took many Ghanaians for a ride when he unsuccessfully attempted to justify the disgraceful acts of the former Minister of Youth and Sports, Alhaji Muntaka during that infamous press conference and added that President mills has further demonstrated his lack of respect for the people of this country through that uncomplimentary comments made last Saturday at the NDC congress. The NPP MP noted that there was every indication that the President has been besmirched by power, hence his absolute disregard for the good people of this country. It is said that power corrupt and absolute power corrupt absolutely so I am sure that the President has fallen prey to it, he noted. Hon. Botwe also described the President as someone who is reeling under frustration and colossus of unfulfilled promises. According to him, the President, having felt the heat from his own allies over his failure to deliver on his campaign promises is now using the previous government as a scapegoat and to draw the attention of the public from the realities on the ground. He said he would prefer to leave the matter for discerning Ghanaians to draw their own conclusion and make their own judgement. He noted, if President Mills wants to describe a government which introduced National Health Insurance Scheme, School Feeding Programme, Metro Mass transit, improved road networks in the country and recorded on all time micro and macro economic development as a wasteful regime, then I do not know what else that means if not a spite in the face of good people of Ghana.
