National Theatre Outdoors New Strategic Plan

The National Theatre of Ghana (NTG) has outdoored a five-year strategic plan aimed at promoting the Ghanaian culture through the development of art.

This is to be achieved through inspired artistic experiences and a reviewed administrative structure that focuses on having a committed workforce, improved community engagement and technology driven agenda.

At the launch of the strategic plan which was held in Accra last Monday, NTG also unveiled its new logo.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Executive Director of NTG, Amy Appiah Frimpong, indicated that the launch of the strategic plan will provide the organisation with a unified roadmap.

Mrs. Frimpong explained that the search for a new logo to represent the NTG was put in a contest, where about 128 entries were received.

Some 12 entries were shortlisted, with six emerging the winners of the logo competition, adding that the first winner was awarded a certificate and GH¢5,000, while the rest received cash prizes ranging from GH¢1,000 to GH¢500.

The Deputy Minister for Tourism Arts &Culture, Dr. Ziblim Barri Iddi, who was the guest speaker at the ceremony, expressed optimism that the new strategic plan would be fully implemented.

He lauded the board of NTG for being prudent in carrying out activities that seek to promote tourism and culture.
