General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has described Chairman of the National Peace Council, Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Asante, as one of the most credible personalities in Ghana.

According to him, he believes Rev. Prof. Asante was misinformed about former President Mahama's "boot-for-boot" comments that is why he asked him to apologise.

Speaking on Okay FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, he maintained that, Rev. Prof. Asante is balanced, intelligent and truthful, when commenting on issues in the country.

"I think the first radio that interviewed him misquoted him. I was shocked to see Peace Council's statement condemning the Ayawaso by-election violence . . . let's sleeping dogs lie because he is a man of peace," he stressed.
