Ghana's Economy Growing Faster Than US Economy - US News Host - VIDEO

Ghana’s economy has been ‘hyped’ as one of the fastest-growing on the globe. In fact, compared to the United States of America, it is a faster growing economy, according to international news agency CBS Host, Bianna Golodryga.

Her comments come on the back of remarks made by US President, Donald Trump during his second State of the Union address. Mr. Trump, while touting his feats on the economic front, described the United States as having the ‘hottest economy’ worldwide, maintaining that the current economic growth rate of the country is unprecedented.

“Over the last few years, my administration has moved with urgency and historic speed to confront problems neglected by leaders of both parties over many decades. In just two years since the election, we have launched an unprecedented economic boom, a boom that has rarely been seen before. There’s been nothing like it. We have created a 5.3 million new jobs and importantly, added 600,000 manufacturing jobs, something which almost everyone said was impossible to do but the fact is we are just getting started”, Mr. Trump noted.

Adding, “Wages are rising at the fastest pace in decades and growing, for blue color workers who I promised to fight for are growing faster than anyone else thought possible. Nearly 5 million Americans have been lifted off food stamps”.

“The US economy is growing almost twice as fast today as when I took office and we are considered far in the way, the hottest economy anywhere in the world, not even close.”

Mrs. Golodryga, who joined a host of journalists on the ‘Late Show ’ however thought differently about the issue. For her, a ‘hot’ economy does not necessarily reflect a ‘healthy’ one.

As far as she is concerned, Ghana and a host of other countries including Nigeria and China even have faster growth rates than the United States does presently. While she acknowledged vast improvement on the economy, she was emphatic about the fact that the US has had better statistics under previous administrations.

“There’s a difference if you are talking about a healthy economy and the hottest economy ever in history which is just not the case, Ghana’s economy is growing faster than the US economy, Nigeria’s economy is growing faster, India, even China’s economy is slowing but still growing at a faster rate than the US economy”.
“A lot to be excited about, a 100 straight months of job growth, the economy, the unemployment rate is at 4%, but we have seen stronger economic growth in years past”.

US President, Donald Trump read his second State of the Union Address before a joint session of Congress Tuesday February 6, 2019.
