President Akufo-Addo Remains The Greatest Threat To Our Peace - Suhuyini

President Nana Akufo-Addo has been described by the Tamale North Member of Parliament, Hon. Alhassan Suhuyini as the greatest threat to the peace of the country regardless of his lack of physical involvement in recent brutalities and criminal activities going on in the country.

Without giving instances to buttress his claim, Hon. Suhuyini felt taken aback when President Akufo-Addo only described the blood-spilt in the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election as an isolated violence despite the condemnation from UNDP and other observers.

When the blood started spilling in Ayawaso, I was sad that it had to take the UNDP and others to condemn what was happening, but our President only described it as an isolated violence. Really, when a dozen-plus are in hospital, you call that an isolated violence?” he expressed surprise.

Speaking on Radio Gold, Hon. Suhuyini lambasted “those pretenders” with soft spots for President Akufo-Addo and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to wake up to the reality of the caution given to Ghanaians when Akufo-Addo was an opposition leader - being a threat to the country’s peace.

He again chided the reaction of the Electoral Commission boss, Jean Mensa, for saying nothing went wrong in the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election, describing it as peaceful, as well as the good conduct of the security. Thus, her conduct as an appointee of the President, taking pride in that tag on her and also coupled with her conduct in the recent referendum, makes the Electoral Commission lose its credibility required to conduct the general election in 2020.

“....her conduct in the Referendum and in this by-election does not give the Electoral Commission the needed credibility that it requires to conduct a general election, come 2020”, he jabbed.

Alhassan Suhuyini, however, commended Mr. Kwasi Aning for chastising that “we do not need this, that the Commission is just a panic reaction to a problem that can easily be fixed or could have been fixed long ago”; reiterating that the security expert was forthright on this by-election violence, urging more like-minded opinion leaders to also speak on the matter.
