North East Regional Capital: Bawumia Did The Honorable Thing . . . Highly Commendable – Manasseh Azure Writes

Manasseh Azure Awuni, a Journalist at the Multimedia Group Limited has described the action of the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on the newly-created North East Regional capital as honorable and ethical.

According to him Vice President Bawumia had every right to influence the process by making Walewale which is the largest town in the region the regional capital, but instead allowed the law of the land to work by choosing Nalerigu as the regional capital.

On his facebook page he wrote;

“Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia hails from Walewale in the newly-created North East Region. Walewale is one of the biggest towns in that enclave.

Walewale would have loved to be the regional capital, but the Nalerigu was chosen.

Walewale was not made the regional capital just because their "son" is at the helm of affairs. This is very commendable.

It should tell those clamouring to have their towns as capitals it is impossible to appease everyone.”
