Akufo-Addo’s Visit To Burma Camp Postponed

THE PLANNED visit of President Akufo-Addo to the Burma Camp today, has been postponed indefinitely.

It is unclear why the visit has been postponed but DAILY GUIDE NETWORK (DGN) presumes it could be due to the President’s busy schedule at the Jubilee House today where he would be presenting the Constitutional Instruments for the creation of the Bono East and Ahafo Regions respectively.

It would be recalled that a release issued by Commander A La-Anyane on behalf of the Director of Public Affairs of the Ghana Armed Forces had indicated that the President will commission a number of newly acquired buses and other vehicles for the Ghana Armed Forces as part of the visit.

According to the release, President Akufo-Addo was expected also to use the visit to commission some competed projects within the General Headquarters.

The President, the release indicated, was to climax his visit with an all ranks durbar at the Burma Hall where he will interact with troops of the Ghana Armed Forces.

But a statement issued yesterday by the Armed Forces on the postponement of the visit read: “Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. The C-in-C’s visit to Burma Camp will not come off tomorrow. New date will be communicated. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.”

Burma Camp serves as the headquarters of the Ghana Armed Forces.
