"There Is No Confusion In Our Party" – Mahama's Campaign Team Spokesperson

The spokesperson for former President Mahama’s campaign team has dismissed reports that there is confusion in the opposition National Democratic Congress over an amount of money given to party regional Chairmen to share.

The Daily Guide newspaper on Monday reported that former President John Mahama held a meeting with all 10 regional Chairmen of the NDC at his office to discuss how to shore up support for his candidature in order to win the flagbearership race.

It further indicated that “the former President is said to have budgeted an amount of GH¢2 million for that project. Each of the 10 regional Chairmen was given an amount of GH¢100,000 with GH¢30,000 for each of the 275 constituency Chairmen to ensure he wins the primary. Checks with some constituency executives indicated that even though many of them have heard about the existence of the money, they maintained that the cash is yet to get to them”.

However, Agyenim Boateng speaking in an interview on Peace FM's 'kokrokoo' morning show said the party is as peaceful as ever.

Even though he could not confirm or deny the sharing of any amount, he reiterated: “there is no confusion in our party; we are united and we are confident he (former President Mahama) will be victorious…”
