Ghana Can Dominate 2023 All Africa Games

Derek Abrefa, the nation’s top seed in table tennis, believes Ghana can successfully host and dominate the 13th edition of the All Africa Games slated for 2023.

According to the veteran table tennis player, the current administrative heads of various sporting disciplines would play a crucial role for a successful outing at games.

''We have all it takes to successfully host the game, but I encourage heads of various sports association who have assumed office recently to emulate what the previous leaders were doing and work hard.

''We saw their efforts, sacrifices to lift the image of sports in Ghana and I am boldly saying that if all leaders emulate what their predecessors have done, Ghana's name would not be forgotten in the history of the games,'' Abrefa said.

He also encouraged to upcoming athletes to maintain their focus and persevere during the hard times.

''I encourage my young and upcoming ones to continue working harder. The journey to the top is not easy, but it's worth it. Stay focused and know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.''

Abrefa also relished a successful outing by Team Ghana at next year's Olympic Games in Toyko.

''The Ghanaian team compared to the previous competitions, I would say we have really improved a lot and if all players would be committed, we would make an impact on the globe,'' he ended.
