#Communitywatch: Students of Bepotrim M/A Basic School In Death Trap Classroom(VIDEO)

Students of Bepotrim M/A Basic School are under the mercy of the weather as a strong wind can collapse their school building during any heavy downpour.

The school which is located in Wenchi, Bono East Region was constructed around 1980 and has seen little or no improvement since then.

The teachers and students lack tables and chairs, textbooks and other teaching materials that will help in academic performance, and this affects the grades of these students according to one of the teachers.

"Government is saying there will be no schools under trees so they should try to come to our aid for we are suffering . . . these are our future leaders," one teacher said.

"When it rains, we stop teaching; Students are often asked to go home when it becomes cloudy to avoid disaster," another teacher said.

Teachers of the school who don't have offices take solace under one of the trees on the school compound. Some of them, who don't get access to tables, often sit on their motorbikes to mark books or wait for their turn to teach.
