Peace FM, the leading media organization of the Despite Group of Companies, has been adjudged the Best Radio station at the just ended Eastern Regional Tourism Awards held at the plush Capital View hotel in Koforidua.
A citation accompanying the award extolled the station for its contribution to the hospitality industry.
The citation read; "Among the many radio stations in Ghana, Peace Fm has become a leader not by accident but by dint of hard work exhibited by both management and staff. One such dynamic and resourceful staff is Michael Akrofi Mysone,your Eastern Regional correspondent, whose reportage on tourism stories in the Eastern Region has been applauded by the rank and file in the tourism industry in Ghana.
"No wonder Peace Fm is the most listened to radio station in Ghana. The finesse and deftness in which the various tourism news items were reported gave the required visibility to the Ghana Tourism Authority in terms of accuracy and understanding of tourism related activities in the Eastern Region during the year under review (2018)”.
Besides Peace FM, some players in the hospitality industry were awarded for their various roles.
