Don't Trivialize Contents Of Ofosu-Ampofo's Leaked Tape . . . - A/R Minister Tells NPP

Simon Osei Mensah, Ashanti Regional Minister, has advised the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) not to trivialize the contents of the leaked tape involving the NDC National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo.

Making his submissions on "Kokrokoo" on Peace FM, the Regional Minister held a strong view that the National Democratic Congress are preparing the grounds towards unleashing violence in next year's general elections, and the contents of the tape reflect their intentions.

He cited an incident saying the NDC once plotted to cause mayhem by attacking the NPP in Ashanti Region, but for his bold intervention, their ill-motive would have materialized, and so believed if the NPP loses guard, the opposition party will "dribble" them.

A leaked audio circulating around containing a voice making seditious comments and encouraging some NDC members to wage war on the EC Chairperson, Jean Mensa and also match the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) "boot-for-boot" has been associated with the NDC National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo.

Although Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo has not yet addressed the contents of the tape neither has he confirmed nor denied the voice on the leaked audio, the NDC Communications Officer says the tape is fake and doctored.

But speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi, the Ashanti Regional Minister urged the NPP saying "don't trivialize the tape. They’re preparing the grounds and intentionally beating about it left, right, center; trying to dribble people. They cannot dribble everybody. Some of us have our eyes wide open”.
