“It’s The Order Of The Day” To Accompany Ofosu-Ampofo To CID Office - Ade Coker

Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress [NDC], Joseph Kobina Ade Coker, says it’s a norm for his party leadership and supporters to accompany their National Chairman to the Headquarters of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service.

Their move is to show solidarity to the Chairman who has been invited by the CID to answer questions about a leaked audio tape that captures him making some comments that border on the country’s security.

Some have said the party’s move indicative of the fact that they are in tacit support of Mr Ofosu Ampofo’s utterances on the tape.

But Ade Corker described such people as “hypocrites” in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.

According to him, “it’s the order of the day” for any public figure invited by the CID to be accompanied by loved ones.

We are showing solidarity to our chairman and there is nothing wrong about that,” he told host Kwesi Aboagye.

Peace FM’s senior reporter, Mr Obeng Manu, reporting from the CID office Monday, recounts that “almost all” NDC stalwarts and party supporters are at the premises of the Headquarters to solidarize with their party chairman and give him the full support needed.
