Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo has arrived at the office of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters of the Ghana Police Service to answer questions concerning a leaked tape in which he was alleged to have made certain statements which could incite violence in the country.

Mr. Ofosu Ampofo and his executives were allowed entry into the premises on foot from the entrance of the Police headquarters.

Heavily armed Policemen and armoured vehicles have been stationed on either entrance of the Police headquaters while the public who have to enter the compound were seen being thoroughly checked before they were allowed entry.

About a hundred NDC supporters wearing red bands, were spotted standing across the ring road opposite the Police Headquarters, as two FPU anti riot trucks stood guard.

Supporters of the NDC are there to show solidarity to their party Chairman.

“We will target some people and we will let the people know that their lives are in danger and once they know their lives are in danger, they themselves will be careful. As for that one I want to assure you that we will go all out to ensure that, as President John Mahama said, when it comes to this game, in fact, we are better than them,” the NDC Chairman is heard saying in the audio.

The NDC Party including its flagbearer ex-president John Mahama has denied the contents of the tape saying it was doctored.
