Police Peace Keepers Allowance Increased From 30 To 35 USD - Prez Akufo Addo

The President, HE Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo, has disclosed that allowances for police officers on missions abroad has been increased from 30 to 35 USD.

He says it is part of his government promise to boost the morale of men in uniform who put their lives on the line to protect and make the world peaceful for all.

Speaking at the 62nd Independence Day anniversary celebration in Tamale, he commended the Ghana Police Service for their effort to modernize their own rules and regulations.

Like our Armed Forces who served on missions abroad, I am glad to announce that members of the police who go on missions abroad have seen their daily allowance increased from 30 to 35 USD.

He says the country should hold them to their vision to become a world class service capable of delivering planned, protective and peaceful services to the standards of international best practices in a democracy.

He charged Ghanaians to cooperate with the police service for a successful police service.

For the first time since the colonial era, the police has revived their code of conduct which the president says is commendable adding that the police must police themselves first.

He congratulated the first Ghanaian female police officer, chief Supt. Phyllis Osei for winning the distinguished award in 2018 of the UN female police officer of the year.

She is the first female police officer to win this award.

He thus urged the police service to continue projecting the country’s name high as they dispense their duties abroad.
