The opposition Progressive People's Party (PPP) Constituency Secretary in the Jomoro of the Western Region, Joshua Emuah Kofie has resigned from the party for foul play.

In a resignation letter copied the leadership of the party and sighted by the media indicated "It is quite unfortunate to thunder in my resignation from my position as the Constituency Secretary and also cease to be a member of the party with immediate effect".

"I have for some time now realized the Regional Executives have decided already to drop me from my position in the party and also sideline me from active party activities due to an allegation that I have a link with the NPP and the MP for Jomoro Constituency and that I've been defending the NPP and Paul Essien on various political platforms".

Dear Sir,

RESIGNATION FROM THE PROGRESSIVE PEOPLE'S PARTY

I wish to thank all party members and executives from polling station level to the national level for accepting and using me as the Constituency Secretary and a Communication Team member for the party since I joined in 2012 till date. I appreciate whatever each of you has done for me.

It is quite unfortunate to thunder in my resignation from my position as the Constituency Secretary and also cease to be a member of the party with immediate effect.

I have for some time now realized the Regional Executives have decided already to drop me from my position in the party and also sideline me from active party activities due to an allegation that I have a link with the NPP and the MP for Jomoro Constituency and that I've been defending the NPP and Hon. Paul Essien on various political platforms.

The most disappointing aspect is that, it is said I am biding for him just because I had to lead the youth of my community (Nuba) to fight against certain unfortunate incidents in the community.

My disappointed is greatly in the Regional Executives for not even calling to find out from me whether what they have heard is true or not but rather take a decision for a colleague Constituency Executive to defend me before them.

To conclude, I can never sit down unconcerned for my community to face unexpected problems if the need arises for me to come in. For that matter, I'll prefer working for my community to working for a political party which will only better my CV and not bring development to my community.

I am very sorry for any inconvenience caused due to my resignation.
