Let’s Blame Ourselves For The Introduction of Party Militias – Kokofu

Communications team member of the ruling NPP, Henry Kwabena Kokofu says NDC and NPP should blame themselves for issues of vigilantism in the country.

According to him, every riot caused at polling stations during elections are at all times linked to the NDC and NPP, therefore the need for the two parties alone to meet and find a way out as President Akufo-Addo stated in Parliament during his 2019 State of the Nation (SONA) delivery.

“We [Politicians] precisely NDC and NPP must share the blame of vigilantism for our selfish ends, out of which the NDC must take a larger share of the blame, because they started this course,” he said.

Making reference to past vigilante troubles, Hon. Kokofu insisted he will always make reference to past occurrences although some persons don’t buy his style of addressing issues in that parlance.

“I will always make reference to past occurrences because a car without a reverse gear will cause accident,” he stressed on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ programme.

The former Member of Parliament [MP] for Bantama urged President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to back the disbandment of vigilante groups with legislative laws even after a concrete decision has been arrived at.

“I will urge the President to back his vigilante disbandment agreement with concrete legislative laws even after a concrete decision is arrived at,” he said.
