The Central Regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan has dismissed the allegation that he had awarded 50 road contracts to himself.

The Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong had accused the Regional Minister of awarding fifty (50) contracts to himself.

‘’If he doesn’t take care I’ll descend heavily on him, he alone has taken 50 road contracts that were awarded in the Central Region,’’ he reportedly said in an interview on a radio station.

Speaking to Kwami Sefa Kayi in an interview on Peace FM morning show 'Kokrokoo', Kwamena Duncan said 'there is no way' a Regional Minister will award contracts to himself because 'awarding contracts is in the hands of the Road ministry.

"This cannot be…it can never happen; as Regional Ministers, we look after the assemblies; How can a regional minister assign as many as fifty contracts to himself? No regional minister has the power to give himself contracts," he indicated.

Kwamena Duncan disclosed Kennedy Agyepong admitted to him in a telephone call that he was misinformed.

"I have talked to him (Kennedy) and he said it (the allegation) was purely based on miscommunication. I am sure when I spoke to him, he realized he was misinformed. We have decided to move on because everybody makes mistake," he added.
