Sammy Awuku Debunks Akamba's Claim of Running Away From TV Program

The National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Awuku has debunked an allegation by the National Organizer of the Opposition NDC, Joshua Akamba that he [Sammi Awuku] delibrately run away from a debate scheduled between him (Sammi Awuku) and Joshua Akamba at Joy FM yesterday, 20th March, 2019.

In his reaction, he said he sought for permission from the Producer of the show 9 hours to the programme because of some emergency which was dully accepted.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, he asked Mr. Akamba to be rest assured that he will be ready to engage him in a debate on vigilantism; reiterating that he will give him [Akamba] the opportunity at the right time, but added that he must prepare enough for that encounter.

“Akamba said I am his son so before he meet me for a debate; he must prepare well with a lot of research because it will not be good for his son to be on top of issues more than him,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, Sammy Awuku says his party is ready to meet the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to dialogue on the disbandment of vigilantism.

According to Mr. Awuku, NPP as a party is so much committed to the process of the fight against vigilantism that was why they first took the initiative by writing to them (NDC).

He said his party (NPP) is ever ready to meet the executive of NDC at any place of their choice saying even at the residence of former President Mahama they will avail themselves for the dialogue.

Mr. Awuku also added that the NDC must corporate so both parties can end the issue of vigilantism in the country.

“We are open to meet them at any place of their choice and will avail ourselves to them, but right now we are waiting for their response,” he said.

A report says that NDC executives are working on the letter and will come out with their response to the NPP in due time.
