Dr. Kwabena Adjei To Be Laid To Rest On Saturday, 1st June

Former National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Kwabena Adjei will be buried on the 1st of June 2019 at Nkonnya his home town in the Volta region.

Speaking on Okay FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, former National Organizer of the NDC, Yaw Boateng Gyan who is also Chairman of the Planning committee for the funeral, explained per the family's decision, he will be laid in state on the 31st of May at the forecourt of the State House where leadership of the house and parliamentarians will do what they are expected to do since he was a former Member of Parliament.

His remains will then be conveyed to his home town, Nkonnya for interment and funeral rites on the 1st of June.

A thanks giving service will be held on the 2nd of June in his home town, Nkonnya.

NDC Presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama on Thursday joined the family and mourners to observe the traditional one-week ceremony of the late Dr. Kwabena Adjei, a former Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Dr. Adjei was a former Member of Parliament for Biakoye, a former Minister for Agriculture and a former Majority Leader in Parliament. He died on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at the age of 76.

Present at the ceremony were leading members of the NDC led by Party Founder and former president Jerry John Rawlings, Vice Chairman of the Council of Elders Alhaji Mahama Iddrisu, former Speaker of Parliament Edward Doe Adjaho, NDC Chairman Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, General Secretary Johnson Aseidu Nketia and the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin.

Others were Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu, former Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, Mr. Ato Ahwoi, Professor Kwamena Ahwoi and national executives of the party.
