Recent Power Outages: Ghanaians Deserve An Explanation - Dep Info Minister

Deputy Minister of Information, Pius Enam Hadzide wants the relevant institution responsible for the current power outages to open up to Ghanaians about the current energy situation, and if possibly, render an apology to the public.

The power outages, popularly known in the country as ‘Dumsor’ has been going in the capital for some time now and government insists it is not ‘Dumsor’.

Power Distribution Services (PDS) keeps attributing it to technical challenges, rainfall and others. Meanwhile, this problem persists.

Speaking to this during a panel discussion on Peace FM/s morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, Pius Hadzide opined that if the public is told the truth about what exactly the problem is, "Ghanaians will understand".

“ . . the relevant body must apologise and then give us a road map of resolving those challenges and an indication of when it will end. If there are technical challenges, we should be humble enough to accept and apologise. It’s a human institution so if something is going on wrong, Ghanaians will understand . . . we should be truthful to ourselves,” he said.

Meanwhile, information rife indicates that the Minister of Energy, Peter Amewu will be holding a press conference to reveal what is causing the frequent power outages.
