Sekyere East District Chief Executive, Hon. Mary Boatemaa Marfo, is reported to have hired a group of Machomen to cause havoc at the party’s office at Effiduase after a misunderstanding with some Assembly members over corruption allegations.

Report says the DCE allegedly ordered the Machomen to vandalize properties to show her displeasure over an attempt by the Assembly members to pass a vote of no confidence in her.

The well-built men on Tuesday stormed the party office with sticks to demonstrate as ordered.

According to the Constituency Secretary, Kwame Ampratwum, one of the Machomen hit him with a stick which he equally replied.

The Assembly Members, numbering about 16 simply want their DCE removed from office over glaring “incompetence” and “corruption”.

However, the DCE, Mary Boatemaa Marfo in an interview with Peacefmonline.com strongly denied sending the thugs to destroy party properties. 

She said the alleged Machomen are “all members of the NPP, they are not Machomen” - adding that “I did not send them anywhere. I have been advised not to talk but at the right time I will.”
