The first official event, after the Now Generation Forum, of the 2019 Ibrahim Governance Weekend was the Ibrahim Leadership Ceremony celebrating examples of excellent leadership in Africa.

This year the foundation honoured the legacy of former Prize Committee chair and former UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan.

President Alassane Ouattara of Cote d’Ivoire, Mo Ibrahim, Kofi’s son Kojo Annan, Kofi’s Deputy when he was Sec.-Gen, Mark Malloch Brown, Amina Mohammed were among those who gave speeches in honour of Kofi.

The night also had performances from Jahelle Bonne and Fally Ipupa.
