Hundreds of people of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Loyal ladies members, a vibrant female youth group within the party on Saturday 6th April, 2019 thronged to the principal streets of Accra to embark on a health walk. 

The affable female group in the Greater Accran Chapter organized the Health walk and funfair to mark its 3rd Anniversary in grand style.

To commemorate the big day, the vibrant volunteer group, under the Youth Wing of the NPP came together with support from notable members of the party to energize their base and develop strategies ahead of the 2020 elections.

The health walk commenced from Okponglo at 7:00 a.m. through Legon, Madina overhead and finally ending at the Legon Botanical gardens with aerobics session, to boost the fitness of their members.

Speaking to peacefmonline.com, the Vice President of the NPP Loyal Ladies in charge of Public Relations, Miss Adwoa Pomaa Sanwu stated that they are celebrating the group achievements for the past three years.

According to her, the vibrant and affable group was formed not only to canvas votes for the party but also to groom women especially in the political terrain.

She also called on Ghanaian women especially those engaged in politics not to lose sight of their dreams especially when they are called with unpleasant names.

 “We are celebrating our 3rd year in existence as a group. We were formed in March 2016 to canvas votes for the NPP and as you all know we were able to achieve that.

“But that is not our core mandate us a group…we want to serve as an incubator to groom women for the party and for the country…and so far we have had a lot of our members appointed into positions for which we are grateful for. Basically, that is what we are celebrating today as a group”, she stressed.

Ms Pomah reiterated that Loyal Ladies as a group has decentralized the celebration of their anniversary so the first phase was just for the Greater Accra Region, assuring that other region will follow suit soon. 

“We have had other Regions also celebrate. There are others also coming up in due process and so that’s just about it”.

The event was climaxed with some music and dance to ease tiredness and stress as they took advantage of the occasion to also catch up with old pals.

 The vibrant female group formed in March 2016, with the aim of grooming women for both the party and the country. Since coming into existence, they have worked in sync with other groups within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to ensure the aims of the party are always championed.

Ms Pomah again assured the party that they (Loyal Ladies) are not going to be complacence in the 2020 election because the race is not a foregone conclusion for the governing NPP, hence there is the need to avoid complacency and strengthen the base of the party as they work to retain political power in the next general election.
