Chief Executive Officer of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), Mohammed Nii Adjei Sowah has assured that specific authorities will from Monday, 15th April, 2019, apprehend persons who throw refuse about at unauthorized places in the city.
According to him, for the dream of the President to make Accra the cleanest city in Africa to be realized, a lot of work need to be done including the implementation of the country’s sanitation laws.
He said every citizen must personalize the issue of sanitation and do accordingly to keep our city clean as the task force alone cannot do the work.
The Accra Metropolitan Assembly boss on UTV explained that the Town Council which we normally call ‘saman saman’, a form of sanitation task force who usually visit homes to check residents to keep their surroundings neat will soon be provided uniforms to prevent fake officers.
Mr. Nii Adjei Sowah affirmed government has put up a lot of immediate measures to curb sanitation problems facing the country.
