The National Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammi Awuku has said the demise of the Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Party, Mr. C.K. Tedam is a big blow to the NPP fraternity.

Mr. C.K Tedam a founding member of the NPP and former Council of State Member died in his sleep at his home in Accra on Thursday night, April 25th 2019.

The 93-year-old was among the early political torchbearers from the then Northern Territories.

According to Mr. Awuku, NPP has lost a legend, an honorable man difficult to be replaced.

“He is one of the biggest and the greatest pillars of our party. He was a founding member of the Northern People’s Party in 1954, stood and won election to parliament in 1956 on the ticket of the Northern People’s Party, NPP and a member of the Council of State during the regime of John Kufuor.

"One thing I remember about him is, his punctuality at every meeting, his time management (because he was always ahead of us in every meeting) and his dedication to the task as the Chairman of the council. He never missed any meeting ever since I became National Organizer," he said.

Mr. Awuku therefore expressed his condolences to the families of the late Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Party.
