Education Is Key To Development - MP

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Wassa East, Mr Isaac Adjei-Mensah has expressed his commitment to providing quality and accessible educational services for the development of the Wassa East district.

Addressing the Wassa East district Assembly first quarter meeting at Daboase, he declared his support towards all development projects and pledged to use his share of the common fund to rehabilitate all educational projects in the district.
The MP said he donated 190 bags of cement to five schools, 10 packs of roofing sheets to three schools and eight metal poles to some dilapidated schools in the district.

According to him, he also donated 50 bags of cement for the renovation of the Atwebasa D/A teacher’s quarters and four big buckets of emulsion paints and five buckets of oil paints for Obuase school.

Mr Adjei-Mensah said due to his passion for education, he assisted 153 students to pay their school fees at various educational levels.
On health, Mr Adjei-Mensah said he was assisting in the construction of the Prato area CHPs compound, Antenatal shed at Adiembra-and a CHPs at Anti- Kubekro which were all about 80 percent complete.

He said he started the renewal of National Health Insurance cards for the aged and vulnerable who could not afford, adding that medical bills of nine people were also settled.

Touching on sports, the MP said he donated GHC 7000,00 to the Axim district education directorate for the western region under 13 and 15 tournaments.

He said five sets of Jersey and five footballs were also donated towards the tournament and also donated sets of Jersey and footballs to 33 basic schools and 15 Jerseys and football to some selected community football teams.

The MP called on all the assembly members to collectively unite for the development of the district.

Stephen Kuma Angu, former Presiding Member of the area commended the MP for the good work and urged the assembly members to cooperate with him for development.
