Voting is underway for the election of executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the newly-created Ahafo Region at Goaso, the regional capital.

In all, 36 candidates are vying for various positions while a total of 172 delegates from the six constituencies in the region are expected to cast their ballot in the exercise.

There is a joyous atmosphere at the Goaso Catholic Pastoral Centre where the congress is taking place as supporters of the various candidates struggle to do a last minute campaign amid singing, drumming and displaying of posters of the contestants.
