“I’m Committed To The Black Stars” - Gyan

Asamoah Gyan – General Captain of the senior national team, the Black Stars, has pledged his commitment to the cause of the team, ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

Gyan, announced his permanent retirement from the team, after he was told by coach Kwesi Appiah, of the decision to strip him off the captain’s band.

However, after a presidential intervention the player rescinded his decision and announced his availability for a call into the team.

At a meeting between the player and the coach at Holiday Inn Hotel in Accra on Tuesday, both parties agreed to patch and work for the collective interest of the team and the nation.

Gyan said his commitment to the national team remained undiluted despite recent challenges.

Information gathered by the GNA Sports indicates that, the coach and the player had resolved their differences and willing to work together.

According to the information, Gyan informed the coach of his decision to accept the new changes in the team and also work together.

The player informed the coach that, he was not ready throw away their healthy working relationship hence the need to patch up with him.

Coach Appiah on the other hand accepted the player’s decision and encouraged him to remain loyal to the team.

The Black Stars are expected to commence preparations for the 2019 AFCON in Egypt soon.
