NYA And Parliamentary Committee On Sport Hold Briefing Session To Review National Youth Policy

National Youth Authority under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS) has held a briefing session with the Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports towards to review the progress of the 2010 National Youth Policy. 

The briefing session saw a presentation of a draft of the state of youth development report and highlights of the results of the issues survey undertaken by the committee in relation to this policy review process.

Hon. Isaac Asiamah, Minister of Youth and Sports in an interview with Peace FM News said “NYA under President Akufo Addo is now visible because there is enough resource and funds to work unlike the previous years".

According to him, the review policy covered largest population of the youth of this country, adding that the youth population is good for productivity; thus it is a tool for development, urging every Ghanaian to engage them to increase the economy.

"The youth are both the present and the future and that every policy that is made in the country should capture their needs as the highest priority", he emphasized.


He however expressed gratitude to the leadership of NYA headed by the CEO Mr. Emmanuel Sin-Nyet Asigri for a good job done.

Also commenting at the briefing was the Member of Parliament for Kumbungu, Hon. Ras Mubarak who stated that the vision of the policy can be achieved, by building the capacity base of NYA workers across the country for easy accessibility of information.

He therefore pleaded with the government to honour his promise by working towards bringing all youth groups under one umbrella; thus “there is no coordination between the Ministry of Sports and other Ministry which needs to be check because the future of this nation is about the youth".
