Glo Neglects Amakye Dede

Evergreen Ghanaian Highlife singer, Daniel Amakye Dede aka Serious has been sidelined in the first phase of the branding of all the seventeen Ghana celebrities who have endorsed mobile telecommunication company, Globacom. Nearly a month after several giant billboards were mounted in town with huge pictures of stars introducing the new brand, that of the Iron Boy singer, is conspicuously missing. Peace Fms Entertainment Review spoke to Abrantie Amakyi Dede to find out from him, if he is aware of his obvious exclusion. Amakye, who reported took between GH50-70,000 as a Glo Ambassodor said Glo have signed me and as far as I am concerned, they have not given me any letter saying they have terminated my contract. So for me, I know am still with Glo. Asked if he has seen his picture on any of the numerous billboards in the city of Accra, he said he saw one with Gedublay Ambulleys picture and some other musicians but he hasnt seen himself on any yet. When Kwasi Aboagye, host of the program questioned Abrantie if he has contacted officials of Globacom Limited, he answered, Oh, well I have not asked them but I feel that it is not necessary for me to ask them because they took several pictures of all of us for billboards, so if they think that the pictures are enough, I dont know. But for now they have not communicated with me on that subject and I have not told them anything, he said. So far, Nadia Buari, Van Vicker, Junior Agogo, Gedublay Ambulley, Reggie Rockstone, Jackie Appiah, Ayigbe Edem, Asem, Wutah, Tinny, Serifatu, Irene Logan, Paapa Yangson and Pat Thomas have all been sighted in the same pose either in a single or a group picture on some Glo billboards dotted all over town. Abranties picture is believed to have been omitted because he performed on a competitor (Vodafons) platform, at last years Joy FM Nite with Stars at the National Theater in Accra, contrary to the provision in contract he signed with Glo. Another Glo ambassador, whose picture has also not being seen is Afro-pop singer Rebecca Acheampong a.k.a Becca, but her management is tight lipped on the issue. All attempts to get officials of Glo to give their side of the issue have proven futile, but we will keep asking until we receive answers.
