The former Member of Parliament(MP) for Nabdam Constituency, Boniface Adagbila Gambila, has called on Ghanaians, especially the northern folks to desist venting their frustrations on government for the despicable construction of government's flagship project, 'One Village, One Dam'.

The former Nabdam legislator and Board Member of the Northern Development Authority(NDA), says the angry public should deem it relevant to direct their disappointments to the contractors and consultants for the poor execution of the project since government has paid the amount of money required for the construction of befitting dams to help the rural farmer.

He was speaking on sidelines with Peace News' reporter Francis Dabre Dabang when a delegation from the NDA led by its Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Abdel-Majeed Haroun, paid a courtesy call on Chiefs and traditional leaders at the Regional House of Chiefs in Bolgatanga of the Upper East Region.

While advising contractors to stop sabotaging government by building poor and unbefitting dams to the people in the north, Mr. Gambila charged the beneficiaries to be bold to revolt against the contractors, and report them to the appropriate authorities for the necessary actions to be taken against them for any shoddy work.

The former Nabdam law maker, who would never rule out his possibility of staging a comeback at the 2020 parliamentary and presidential race, reiterates government's resolve to the cause of the northern part of the country, urging the people to be patient as plans are underway to building irrigation dams to support all year round agricultural activities.

The Board Member emphasised that the few lapses in the execution of the dams project by some contractors cannot render the whole intervention a useless one, adding all the defects would be corrected in due course.

Meanwhile, the CEO of the NDA, Dr. Haroun, pledges that the organisation is repositioned to responding to the dire challenges affecting people in the poverty stricken communities in the north, and calling on northerners to have faith in the Akufo-Addo and his New Patriotic Party-led administration as they were bent on improving their living standards.
